Court Accompaniment and Rapid Response Training
For Indivisible Middlesex CT and Middletown Immigrant Resource Alliance Members
A group of volunteers willing to accompany immigrants to court and to show up when the call comes in reporting ICE activity. We stand with immigrants and their families before, during, and after a raid. Activists will be notified of details when needed.
Though training isn't necessary, we periodically have a training session to prepare volunteers for accompanying immigrants to court or being a part of rapid response. Participants learn what to expect, how to prepare, and how to react. The training generally last about 90 minutes. A new training will be scheduled once we know we have enough people needing this service. If you are interested, please send an email to us at indivisibleMiddlesexct@gmail.com and in the subject line state, 'want court accompaniment class.'
Court accompaniments are ongoing in New Haven. It would be helpful for our local volunteers to attend a New Haven accompaniment as observers until there is a need for one here. Anyone interested in joining a New Haven court accompaniment should contact Michael T at Mtkayak1@gmail.com.

The Connecticut Trust Act and other Connecticut Protections
A State law that limits how local and state law enforcement can cooperate with federal immigration authorities, specifically U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It aims to protect undocumented immigrants from deportation by restricting information sharing and ensuring that local resources are not used for federal immigration enforcement. Click here to read. In October 2025, key updates to Connecticut’s Trust Act took effect. Click here to read about the changes.
Middletown residents, led by Ed McKeon of Indivisible Middlesex CT, petitioned the Middletown Common Council to pass a resolution affirming the city’s commitment to the Trust Act and requesting that ICE agents remove their masks and identify themselves during enforcement operations. The enhancement of the Middletown Trust act has passed its first two Middletown Common Council hurdles, and will be coming up for another vote soon. The date will be posted as soon as the new Common Council is seated. Click here to view the resolution.
The CT ACLU asked Indivisible groups (as well as other similar organizations) to sign onto an executive order regarding the use of the Connecticut National Guard. This order is intended for the signature of Governor Lamont. Indivisible Middlesex CT signed this order on 12/8/2025. Click here to read. Updates will be posted here once we hear back from the CT ACLU
